I stand squarly in the middle of the soggy arena. A girl and I have been waiting for a very long time for Veronica. She was late...again. I heave out a sigh and the girl flashes me a look. She has loosened my girth strap, thank heavens, and was now impatient. She was muttering something about how Veronica was a self centered brat. I didn't know what that meant, so I kept quiet. I was getting tired of waiting for her...

I walk out of the barn wearing fancy riding close.I was about to get on.But then I notice that his girth was loose.I tighten it.I then mount and then walk him a little and then tell him to trot.I wait for Max.And then I see Sam on the Fleabag Pepper.I roll my eyes and then ask for a canter.

I give a slight buck, for my legs are not fully warmed up yet. I break to a bumpy canter, leading with my left leg. Wrong lead. I swap my leads at the corner, making my stride a lot more comfortable. We come around the third turn and I increase my speed.

I am usually a calm stallion, but this was too much! I bucked and threw up my head. I leapt toward the first jump and hastily bumped over it. It clipped the top pole and it fell to the ground with a dull thud.
